I have known David for numerous years and was a member of a local Labour Council when David became a delegate. I have supported Dave since his early days as a City Councillor in Hamilton. Dave moved on to a successful election to our Provincial Legislature in 1990 by defeating a Liberal incumbent and served for there until 2003 at which time he chose not to run in the Provincial election. In that year, David ran unsuccessfully for Mayor in the City of Hamilton. A few months later, Dave threw his hat into Federal Politics and won that and the following elections as an M.P. for Hamilton Centre and is the Deputy Leader of the N.D.P. Dave has always maintained a strong voice for Labour throughout his Political career and has served his constituents faithfully since he first entered the political arena. I believe that David has been a strong voice for Labour, not only in his riding, but throughout Canada and will continue to do so until his retirement.
